What We Believe

What We Believe

One True God, Jehovah

Without beginning, existing eternally as three persons, namely the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit. God alone is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. (Matthew 28:19, 1 John 5:7)

The Father

The righteous judge, seated on the throne, eternally living in heaven. (Luke 3:22, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Revelation 3:21)

Jesus Christ, the Son

Born of a virgin, His uncreated existence and deity, His earthly ministry and sinless life, His vicarious death and atonement through His blood at Calvary, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His present ministry and His coming again in power. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 24:36-43, John 1:1-3, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 9:12, Revelation 19:11-16)

The Holy Spirit

His personality and deity, His work in each believer, His indwelling at the moment of regeneration and filling to empowerment for Christian life and service. All believers should earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism of the Holy Ghost according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service. This wonderful experience is distinct and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. The baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is evidenced by the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. The speaking in tongues, in this instance, is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, but different in purpose and use, and all is received by faith. The bestowment of the gifts and their uses is the work of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:49, John 16:7-15, Acts 1:4-5,8, 2:4, 5:3-4,10:44-48, 11:15-18, 15:7-9, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, Ephesians 5:18)

Satan

His existence and personality as the great adversary of God and His people, his judgment and final doom. (John 12:31, Revelation 12:1-10, Revelation 20:10)

Man

His direct creation in the image of God, being made in three parts, spirit, soul and body, his subsequent fall into sin resulting in spiritual death and the necessity of the new birth for his salvation. (Genesis 1:26-28, 3:1-24, John 3:3-5, Romans 5:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 4:12)

Sin

Disobedience of the laws of God, which results in separation from God and the curse that all mankind is subsequently born into. (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 1 John 3:4)

Salvation

A complete and eternal salvation by God’s grace alone, received as the gift of God through repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. Confession and repentance are required for salvation. (Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 2:38, 3:19, Romans 10:9-10, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-6, 1 Peter 1:18-19)

The Bible

The only inspired Word of God including all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, verbally inspired in all parts, and therefore wholly without error as originally given by God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

Water Baptism

The righteous judge, seated on the throne, eternally living in heaven. (Luke 3:22, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Revelation 3:21)

The Church

Born of a virgin, His uncreated existence and deity, His earthly ministry and sinless life, His vicarious death and atonement through His blood at Calvary, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His present ministry and His coming again in power. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 24:36-43, John 1:1-3, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 9:12, Revelation 19:11-16)

Believer's Authority

(Luke 10:17-20, Ephesians 6:11-18, James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8-10)

Divine Healing

Physical healing is in Christ’s atonement and is available to all believers through faith in the name of Jesus Christ. Ministry to the sick includes anointing with oil, laying on of hands and the prayer of faith. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, Mark 16:18, James 5:14-20, 1 Peter 2:24)

Future Life

Conscious existence of the dead, the resurrection of the body, the judgment of unbelievers, the eternal life of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost. (Matthew 25:46, Luke 16:19-31, John 3:16, 5:28-29, Revelation 20:11-15)

We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of human life. Abortion is murder in the sight of God. We reject any teaching that justifies the abortion of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth control or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother. (Job 3:16, Psalms 51:5, 139:14-16, Isaiah 44:24, 49:1-5, Jeremiah 1:5, 20:15-18, Luke 1:44)

We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions, namely the family, the church and the state. Every person is subject to these authorities and all, including the authorities themselves, are answerable to God and are to be governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the church and the state are each sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. (Romans 13:1-7, Ephesians 5:22-24, Hebrews 13:17, 1 Peter 2:13-14 )

We believe a cult is a group of persons basing their beliefs around one man’s belief of God, life and man. It always denies the central doctrines of Christianity as found in the Bible. They very often claim Christ or the Bible as a central part of their faith, but most often are in direct opposition to the Christian doctrines of the Trinity and the deity of Christ. (2 John 9-11)

We believe God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one spouse dies. Divorce and remarriage is regarded as adultery except for fornication or an unbeliever desiring to depart. The spouse is not under bondage in such cases but is freed.  (Malachi 2:14-17, Matthew 19:3-12, Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 7:12-16)

We believe all forms of mercy killing or painless killing are the taking of human life which is murder whether by suicide, or induced by another. These shall not inherit the kingdom of God. We believe in the sanctity of life and that life and death are under God’s authority.(Psalms 68:20, Galatians 5:19-21, 90:12, Revelation 1:18)

We believe God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of marriage. We believe any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are all sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Genesis 2:24, 19:4-13, 26:8-11, Leviticus 18:1-30, Romans 1:26-32, 1 Corinthians 5:1, 6:9, 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8, Hebrews 13:4)

We believe occultism is any participation or involvement with fortune-telling, divination, enchantments, witchcraft, sorcery, necromancy, prognostication, astrologers, magic practices and spiritism. Scripture warns that they which do these things shall not inherit the kingdom of God and are an abomination unto the Lord. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12, Isaiah 47:12-15, Galatians 5:19-21)
