Carter's Story - Giving to Carter
Carter belongs to the Leon and Iva Lehman family. They have 3 boys and 1 girl, ages 1-6. On March 20, 2021 their son Carter (4) was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Rhabdomysarcoma in his chest. The tumors had collapsed his left lung and put extensive pressure on his right lung and heart. Now, after extensive treatments, we are blessed to hear that the tumors have responded very well and Carter is at the tail end of treatment. He will need to get Proton radiation and more chemo to wrap up this phase of treatment in mid-February.
With all this being said, there are a lot of costs and lost wages that come with all of these hospital and doctor visits and recently discovered they have reached the cap on their insurance. This is a huge financial burden and we want to make friends aware as they consider helping to offset these expenses. Carter will need to be tested & monitored for the rest of his life. He is doing well, and we pray for the Lord’s protection on him.
